2012

Started with harsh frost.  The south of Hangar 3 fell down within seconds. Cafe and Main Offices flooded. Enthusiasm is still as strong as ever.

Our hard work of the past 22 years on site was recognised by The Hooton Park Trust gaining funding for Hangar 2.  The hangar was completely re-roofed at a cost of £300,000 which included match funding from Vauxhall Motors, who in November celebrated 50 years of car manufacturing at Ellesmere Port.

The Griffin Trust board decided to start promoting the Griffin Trust.  An event to attract Bedford lorry enthusiasts with the view of starting an enthusiasts’ club would be organised next year on Vauxhall Club grounds.

Site maintenance at both GT and HPT is still ongoing. We also vacated the remaining eight offices and a fully operational visitor café area in Hangar 2 (B 17). Yes, you guested it - another downsizing exercise!
